Receiver setup menu
From the receiver setup menu you can enter a couple of variables that might prove handy to receive some channels that can either not be found using the conventional channel search, or will be recognised wrongly. In the latter case, the receiver will display 'NO TS' allthough it is indeed possible to receive the channel. Using this setup menu you can manually enter details like frequency, Forward Error Correction (FEC), Symbol Rate etc. which is especially handy for the reception of SCPCs (Single Carrier Per Channel) like feeds. When required, all that is left in order to receive the channel, is to manually enter the appropriate PID code.

Select 8 from the main internal menu after which you can use the arrow UP and DOWN keys to select the desired variable :

  • Select frequency integer - The number displayed on your screen represents the receiver IF frequency (the actual reception frequency minus the local oscillator frequency of the LNB). Luckily, there is no need to get the calculator out. Just enter the proper frequency using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  • Select symbol rate integer - Use the numeric keypad to enter the correct symbol rate which can be found in a channel list. The symbol rate has to be entered in two stages : An integer and a fraction.
  • Select Viterby code rate - Also known as FEC, can be found in many channel listings
  • Select Aquisition bandwidth - Enter a small bandwidth for SCPC feeds and a larger bandwidth for packages
  • Select Deinterleaver on/off -
  • Select Reed Solomon on/off -
  • Select Automatic acq. on/off -
  • Select indicate RS errors - When activated, this will show RS errors (error rate) in the frontpanel display when you go back to TV mode.
  • Select Signal Quality QPSK -
  • Select to save parameters - Press OK here and all changed parameters will be stored.

To get back to the main menu, press arrow LEFT.
